On Wednesday, June 8 2022, the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), QU Dongyu will participate in person in a Mediterranean Ministerial Dialogue on the Food Security Crisis, organized and hosted by the Italian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The Dialogue aims to identify concrete measures to address the impacts of the conflict in Ukraine on food security in the countries of the Mediterranean basin.
Co-chaired by Germany, Italy, Lebanon and Turkey, the event stems from an initiative by the Italian government and will lay the groundwork for discussions on the topic at the upcoming G7 Summit (June 26-28).
Relevant ministers from the countries concerned together with representatives of international organizations including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will participate virtually and in person at the event.
The event will not be open to the public, but on Wednesday 8 June, 10:00 CEST, FAO Director-General QU Dongyu and Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio will make statements, which will be streamed live on the
Youtube channel of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy.
