PPR Stakeholder seminar series

PPR research for development at the
International Livestock Research Institute

FAO PPR Secretariat would like to invite you to the first PPR Stakeholder Series on “PPR research for development at the International Livestock Research Institute”.

 

The PPR experts from the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) will be discussing about the latest PPR research development. Presentations will include the development of a thermotolerant PPR vaccine and its field testing in several East and West African countries, a description of the BUILD-PPR project and the epizone approach adopted, followed by the development of DIVA vaccines, assessment of simultaneous vaccine administration, and the use of various serological assays, including penside tests. The last presentation will tackle economics and policy based on the Global Burden of Diseases Study (GBADs) and a review of the South African Development Community PPR control strategy.

 

The speakers from ILRI include Dieter Schillinger/Vish Nene, Phil Toye, Michel Dione, Henry Kiara, Edward Okoth, Nicholas Svitek, Wudu Temesgen, Theo Knight-Jones (International Livestock Research Institute).
