We wish to share with you an opportunity for micro-grants for climate resilience and adaptation. Do you know of an innovative approach or technology for adapting to climate change - through restoration? The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Climate Technology Centre & Network (CTCN) are providing USD 5 million of
technical assistance to foster innovation for adaptation in developing countries (up to USD 250 000 for each successful application). The third call for submitting applications is now open until 30 September 2022. This initiative is part of the Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator (AFCIA),
which targets a broad range of potential finance recipients, including governments, non-governmental organizations, community groups, young innovators and other groups. UNEP-CTCN technical assistance will be provided to developing countries on a competitive basis. The selected applications
will be further developed to design a customized solution tailored to the need of a developing country, and the solution will be implemented by a technology provider selected by the CTCN. One of the successful proposals to the fund includes an award-winning
portable flood barrier, which you can learn about here. Learn
more and submit your application here. With kind regards, The Mountain Partnership Secretariat |
