THANK YOU!
It seems like yesterday that we met at the Open Session, in Marseille and online.
The OS22 was a unique opportunity for science and policy to meet and learn from the
innovative and transformative solutions applied in the fight against
FAST diseases.
OS22 Resources
Our Trello
board is available with presentations, book of abstracts, posters, podcasts, pictures, YouTube links, partners area, and much more.
OS22 Highlights
Sessions
· In
Emergency Preparedness and Response, we explored how digital transformation is supporting emergency preparedness and response and presented new technologies to assist in more efficient information exchange and timely decision-making.
·
In Digital Learning we covered the growing field of enhanced learning through digital technologies and remote peers-to-peers modalities that EuFMD
pioneered back in 2013.
·
In virology, diagnostics, and vaccinology we discussed the recent advancements in FAST diagnostics, and we explored innovative technological platforms
for FAST vaccines and issues related to vaccine availability. These fields show clearly the importance of investing in research and developing and maintaining a dialogue between the public and private sectors to ensure the application of new research outcomes.
·
We moved on to Risk assessment and modeling to review the increasing opportunities for data-driven actions. And finished with Surveillance and control
where we explored the potential of digitalization and new surveillance and control strategies for FAST diseases, also taking into account the lessons learned from the review of the recent strategies adopted in the fight against COVID-19 events.
Workshops
·
The Risk Monitoring workshop was held to understand current practices and tools to assess and monitor the risk of incursion of FAST diseases, and identify
gaps in knowledge or tools to assess and monitor the risk of incursion of FAST diseases.
·
The FAST Vaccine Availability Workshop was focused on how to improve vaccine security through long-term supply options.
Poster session
The award for most Innovative Poster went to the
Emergency Toolbox poster, by Costanza de Laurentiis and Ludovica Nela
(EuFMD). You may want to learn more about the toolbox
