Dear Mountain Partnership members and friends,
Sharing a great opportunity which could support attention and investments to promote sustainable development in mountain areas.
As you can see from the email appended below, ECOSOC - Economic and Social Council – is organizing an online consultation in view of the 2023 ECOSOC Partnership
Forum. All of you can “Contribute your inputs on how to strengthen partnerships and stakeholder engagement to accelerate the full implementation of the 2030 Agenda!”
The deadline is 25 November 2022 (Close of Day, EST).
Please see the website where you can find additional information: bit.ly/ECOSOCPartnership2023Consultation and
you can add your input directly here:
https://bit.ly/ECOSOCPartnership23Form
We would encourage you to submit a short paragraph
(max. 500 characters) requesting specific attention to mountain areas and underlining the role of the Mountain Partnership as the only United Nations alliance to support mountains. In a world struggling with scarcer resources, growing population and
the consequences of climate change, mountains can contribute to a more sustainable future and help to achieve the 2030 Agenda. Mountains are an important source of water, food, energy, biological diversity, and home to populations of indigenous peoples with
cultural traditions and heritage.
Submit before the deadline and help us bring mountains to the forefront of this Agenda!
#MountainsMatter
Many thanks,
Rosalaura
