By managing all types of forests in a sustainable way, we can ensure that they continue to supply goods and services now and for future generations. To celebrate International Day of Forests 2023 and their contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development<https://www.fao.org/sustainable-development-goals/en/>, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is hosting a high-level event at its headquarters in Rome, on Tuesday 21 March 2023, 10.00 ¨C 11.30 (CET). Bringing together Ministers, experts and youth activists from around the globe, the overarching goal of the event is to highlight the important role that forests play in ensuring environmental health and the many ways they contribute to healthy societies. Also launching at the event is an annual FAO Tree Cities of the World Award for cities that provide a substantial contribution to the theme of the International Day of Forests. This year, the Tree Cities of the World<http://www.treecitiesoftheworld.org> programme network will be recognized, with the City of Turin representing the network to receive the award.
